The Traditional Baking cookie story began several generations ago for the Voortman family in the quaint village of Hellendoorn, Holland. The Voortmans cherished their cookie recipes and passed them down to younger generations, each adding its own special touches. During the 1940’s, two of the Voortman brothers immigrated to Canada along with all of the family cookie recipes. Together, Bill and Harry Voortman established Voortman Cookies, growing the business from a local bakery to an established cookie brand distributed throughout North America.

Cookies on the Move
Looking to expand the market for Voortman Cookies, the next Voortman
generation moved to the Southwestern U.S. in 1989. The children of Bill
Voortman, established a production and distribution facility in
Bloomington, CA to serve the Arizona, California, Nevada and Utah
markets. This modern 60,000 square foot facility enabled them to supply
a growing customer base for Voortman Cookies in the western U.S., and
to expand production and market opportunities even further.
